As it is widely known, the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and the Russian Children\u2019s Ombudsman, Maria Lvova-Belova. Both are implicated in the forcible deportation of Ukrainian children and accused of unlawfully transferring them from Ukraine\u2019s occupied territories to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. Notably, this practice by the Russian Federation can be traced back to the occupation of Crimea in 2014<\/strong>. The basis for this policy is the forceful passportization of Ukrainian citizens in the temporarily occupied territory. The most vulnerable group of these illegal practices are orphans and children deprived of parental care, who did not have the opportunity to independently renounce the imposed citizenship and protect their rights as they could not make the decisions by themselves. Russian propaganda deliberately uses the sensitive topic of children\u2019s lives and safety to avoid responsibility for this human rights violation. In particular, the agitprop uses a set of manipulative statements, such as: \u00abchildren of Donbas\u00bb are Russian children; Ukraine and the West are killing \u00abchildren of Donbas\u00bb, so they need to be \u00absaved\u00bb (deported to Russia), and that the full-scale invasion is revenge for the \u00abchildren of Donbas\u00bb. At the same time, they consciously \u00abforget\u00bb that it was Russia that unleashed the war from which children need to be saved. Domestic and foreign institutions see this as Russia\u2019s intention to forcibly transfer children from one national group to another and destroy their Ukrainian identity, and such steps actually have signs of genocide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
