On this day, we honor the memory of the first liquidators of the consequences of the nuclear power plant accident, who at the expense of their lives had been confronting nuclear threats and remember all people who had suffered and who had been ensuring for decades the protection of Ukraine and the world from the nuclear danger.<\/p>\n
On April 26th, 1986 at once \u201cpeaceful atom\u201d became as dangerous as nuclear weapon itself. For 31 years Ukraine with the support from the international community has been overcoming the consequences of the worst technogenic disaster, which occurred at Chernobyl nuclear power station.<\/p>\n
At the end of last year, Ukraine together with partner countries completely finished the unique building of the biggest movable ultramodern construction that completely isolated the destroyed reactor and prevented ejection of radiation into the environment.<\/p>\n
The issue of global nuclear safety should remain urgent for the whole society of the world, realizing the risks caused by even the usage of the \u201cpeaceful atom\u201d.<\/p>\n
Today, the high probability of placing on the Crimean peninsula Russian nuclear capability undermines security not only of Ukraine but the whole Black Sea region.<\/p>\n
Ukraine will certainly restore the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine on the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, and will prevent the recurrence of the tragic events of the past.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":28536,"template":"","publication-type":[43],"class_list":["post-28535","press-center","type-press-center","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","publication-type-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
