In June, 20 2018 in the Mission the Permanent Representative of President of Ukraine in ARC Borys Babin met with Consul General of Greece in Odessa Despina Koukoulopoulou and with Attache of Consulate General of Greece in Odessa Mokas Spyridon<\/span> in order to discuss matters within the competence of the Mission and the Consular district.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Consul General of Greece in Odessa noted that despite the ARC and the Sevastopol City belong to the jurisdiction of the Odessa Consular district of Greece, the Consul General is limited in the discharge of its functions due to the current inter-State conflict.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Permanent Representative introduced the guests with the goals and tasks of the Mission, as in the territory adjacent to the temporarily occupied Crimea as in its interaction with the central governmental bodies, public associations, with representatives of the International Organizations and foreign States.<\/span><\/p>\n

Boris Babin emphasized the main objectives of the Mission on assisting foreign citizens legally residing and staying in Crimea and paid attention to the situation of Greek ethnic minority of Crimea, held as hostage by Russian illegal powers and used actively by Russian propaganda in the peninsula today.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Permanent Representative told about destructive activities of the Russian illegal authorities in Crimea towards the world\u2019s heritage \u2013 the Ancient City of Tauric Chersonese and its Chora, included into the list of the World\u2019s Heritage UNESCO before the Russia\u2019s aggression. Borys Babin set out the facts of looting and destroying the archeological monuments due to the Kerch Straight Bridge and highway \u201cTauric\u201d illegally building, provided by the Russian illegal authorities. <\/span><\/p>\n

Borys Babin outlined a well developed cooperation among the Mission and international missions engaged in Human Rights` protection and security matters in Ukraine, in collaboration with other governmental bodies in resolving the issues of IDPs and citizens of Ukraine, residing in temporarily occupied Crimea. The role of the Mission for establishment the Administrative Service Centers` network in the districts adjacent to administrative boundary line with Crimea, for comfortable and operational services to be available for Crimean residents on issuing passports of citizen of Ukraine, was discussed. Particularly the activities of the new office of the State Enterprise \u201cDocument\u201d, opened recently in Kherson was noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

The guests were informed on the order of functioning of the administrative boundary line check points, with the statistics of daily and monthly crossings also as with the humanitarian needs for minimum equipment of those check points in order to provide the safe conditions for the citizens during the control to be held.
