On 28 January 2020 a hearing on \u201cLife under occupation, situation with human rights in Crimea\u201d was held in the U.S. Helsinki Commission (Washington D.C.). During her report, Tamila Tasheva, the deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea focused on prosecutions, arrests, imprisonment, tortures and murders against the Crimean Tartars and Ukrainians, opposing the Russian occupation; forcible imposition of Russian citizenship on the residents of the temporarily occupied Crimea by the Russian Federation and deportation of the local disloyal population from Crimea and replacement of it with its own citizens; unlawful conscription and militarization of youth and children.<\/p>\n
Tamila Tasheva also reported on developments of the state policy concerning the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol including initiatives and real actions undertaken to creates all the conditions for preserving, restoring and supporting communication with its own citizens, residing in Crimea.<\/p>\n
In conclusion, the deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine commended the USA for the consistent support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and assistance in countering armed aggression of the Russian Federation as well as support of projects, implemented by the civic organizations engaged in assistance to the human rights victims and monitoring of the situation in Crimea.
