{"id":31622,"date":"2021-03-19T11:38:46","date_gmt":"2021-03-19T11:38:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ppu.gov.ua\/press-center\/statement-by-g7-foreign-ministers-on-ukraine\/"},"modified":"2021-03-19T11:38:46","modified_gmt":"2021-03-19T11:38:46","slug":"statement-by-g7-foreign-ministers-on-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"press-center","link":"https:\/\/ppu.gov.ua\/en\/press-center\/statement-by-g7-foreign-ministers-on-ukraine\/","title":{"rendered":"Statement by G7 Foreign Ministers on Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In which they:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">condemned of Russia\u2019s continued actions to undermine Ukraine\u2019s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reaffirmed an unwavering support for and commitment to the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">clearly stated the fundamental principles of respect for the territorial integrity of any State and the prohibition of any use of force to change borders.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">unequivocally denounced Russia\u2019s temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">condemned Russia\u2019s violations of human rights on the peninsula, particularly of Crimean Tatars.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">call on Russia to respect its international obligations, allow access to international monitors, and to immediately release all those who are unjustly detained.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">welcomed in principle Ukraine\u2019s initiative to establish an International Crimean Platform to consolidate the international community\u2019s efforts on Crimea.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">firmly opposed Russia\u2019s continued destabilization of Ukraine, especially Russia\u2019s actions in certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, disregarding the commitments it made under the Minsk agreements. The full implementation of the Minsk agreements is the way forward for peace. Russia is a party to the conflict in eastern Ukraine, not a mediator.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">welcomed the recommitment to the ceasefire implemented on 27 July last year, which has significantly reduced violence in the conflict area.\u00a0 However, the conflict continues to claim lives and cause serious damage to critical infrastructure.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">deplored recent military escalations by Russian backed armed formations at the line of contact.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">call on the Russian Federation to stop fueling the conflict by providing financial and military support to the armed formations it backs in eastern Ukraine, as well as by granting Russian citizenship to hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian citizens, and to instead ensure that steps recently taken by Ukraine aimed at helping improve people\u2019s lives on both sides of the line of contact are reciprocated.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reaffirmed the importance of respecting the ceasefire as fundamental for any progress towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">commended France and Germany\u2019s tireless efforts as part of the Normandy Format to pursue a diplomatic path to resolve the conflict and affirmed readiness to provide further support to these efforts.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">call on all sides to fully implement the Minsk agreements and underscored Russia\u2019s responsibility to engage constructively in the Normandy Format and the Trilateral Contact Group with a view to achieving a fair and lasting political solution to the conflict.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The G7 remains fully committed to the implementation of sanctions and will continue to stand with Ukraine in support of its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Original text: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kmu.gov.ua\/en\/news\/zayava-ministriv-zakordonnih-sprav-krayin-g7-shchodo-ukrayini\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Link<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":31623,"template":"","publication-type":[43],"class_list":["post-31622","press-center","type-press-center","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","publication-type-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.0 -
