The position is clear: \u201cRussia is a party to the conflict in eastern Ukraine, not a mediator\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We remind you that seven years ago, on March 27, 2014, the UN General Assembly approved Resolution 68\/262 \u201cTerritorial Integrity of Ukraine\u201d by open voting of UN member states, the vast majority of which voted in favor. The international community reaffirmed its support for Ukraine&#8217;s sovereignty, political independence, unity and territorial integrity and condemned the actions of the Russian Federation in Crimea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite the clear demands of the General Assembly, the Russian Federation did not stop its temporary occupation of Crimea. Human rights violations and abuses, military capacity-building and militarization still continue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another violation of international humanitarian law and human rights by the Russian Federation was the deprivation of Ukrainian citizens on the peninsula of the right to own land. This is a compulsion to acquire the Russian citizenship.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe also firmly condemn Russia\u2019s continued destabilization of Ukraine, especially Russia\u2019s actions in certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, disregarding the commitments it made under the Minsk agreements. We reiterate our support for the efforts of the Normandy format and our firm commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, in line with the Minsk agreements and with full respect of Ukraine\u2019s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Russia is a party to the conflict in eastern Ukraine, not a mediator.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yet again, we urge the Russian Federation to immediately end its occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, and fully implement the relevant UN General Assembly resolutions on the situation in Crimea.
