During the online discussion \u201cHow to protect your land ownership in Crimea\u201d with the participation of representatives of government agencies and lawyers of non-governmental organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Darya Svyrydova, First Deputy Permanent Representative of The President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea commented: \u201cThe actions of confiscation of the land plots were not justified by military necessity, they are systemic, and it is not just illegal, but qualifies committed as war crimes by representatives of the occupying power.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

It is also an attempt to pressure and force those citizens who did not receive a Russian passport in the occupied territories to acquire Russian citizenship. In fact, the occupying country puts our citizens in a situation where it is simply impossible to protect property without citizenship. As well as the seizure of property with the actual probable purpose of further transfer of such land to Russian citizens who illegally inhabit the territory of the Crimean peninsula.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

We urge our citizens to record the facts or attempts of illegal seizure of land in the temporarily occupied Crimea and to apply to law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, in particular to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol or the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, where such appeals of citizens are already systematically recorded\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We remind you that on March 20, 2020, the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation \u2116201 expanded the list of border areas in which foreign citizens and stateless persons are prohibited from owning land.<\/span><\/p>\n

Property that cannot belong to a certain person by virtue of the Decree must be alienated by the property owner within a year from the moment the right to property arises, otherwise the plot may be forcibly confiscated on the basis of decisions of the occupation courts.<\/span><\/p>\n

This decree has affected thousands of Ukrainian citizens who are considered foreigners by the occupying state.<\/span><\/p>\n
