The Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korynevych took part in the round table \u201cIntroduction of the principles of transitional justice as a prerequisite for de-occupation of territories and reintegration of the population\u201d, which was organized by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights and the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union – UHHRU. Among the participants were representatives of public authorities and the non-governmental sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are convinced that there is no alternative to the application of transitional justice mechanisms. Elements of transitional justice are already working in Ukraine, in particular in the Office of the Prosecutor General (Department of Armed Conflict), Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. Transitional justice is already included in regulations, in particular in the Decree of the President of Ukraine 758\/2019 of October 17, 2019 \u201cIssues of the Representation of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea\u201d, in the Strategy of de-occupation and reintegration of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, into the National Strategy for Human Rights. This suggests that transitional justice is considered by the state to be an important element of the policy of de-occupation and reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories\u201d<\/em>, – Anton Korynevych commented.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n
