{"id":31987,"date":"2021-06-17T09:20:15","date_gmt":"2021-06-17T09:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ppu.gov.ua\/press-center\/participation-in-an-event-organized-by-the-crimean-house-for-the-support-of-crimean-political-prisoners\/"},"modified":"2021-06-17T09:20:15","modified_gmt":"2021-06-17T09:20:15","slug":"participation-in-an-event-organized-by-the-crimean-house-for-the-support-of-crimean-political-prisoners","status":"publish","type":"press-center","link":"https:\/\/ppu.gov.ua\/en\/press-center\/participation-in-an-event-organized-by-the-crimean-house-for-the-support-of-crimean-political-prisoners\/","title":{"rendered":"Participation in an event organized by the Crimean House for the support of Crimean political prisoners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On June 16, the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korynevych took part in an event organized by the Crimean House for the support of Crimean political prisoners, to remind about illegally convicted and politically persecuted Ukrainian citizens in the temporary occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as to call on for their release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Russian Federation and its occupation administration detained about 100 citizens of Ukraine for political reasons in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. Crimean Tatars, activists and journalists most often suffer from political repression.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cFor the Mission has always been and will be a key priority the protection of political prisoners and their families. We believe that Ukraine should adopt a law that will regulate the issue of legal and social protection of political prisoners. At the same time, the relevant Interdepartmental Commission is already working to provide financial assistance to political prisoners and their families. Deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Tamila Tasheva is a member of this commission. We call on released political prisoners and families of political prisoners from Crimea to submit documents to the commission. We are also grateful to civic initiatives and organizations, human rights defenders and civic journalists for their work in protecting political prisoners and informing the world about their fate.
