The Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva took part in the governmental meeting on de-occupation and reintegration of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, Tamila Tasheva reported on the work done by the Mission on the main issues of restoration of public authorities on the de-occupied peninsula. Thus, at the beginning of 2014, there were more than 16,000 civil servants, more than 12,000 police officers, almost 3,000 employees of the State Emergency Service, and approximately 1,500 employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and prosecutors’ offices in Crimea.<\/p>\n

That is, after the liberation of Crimea from the occupiers, it will be necessary to train several tens of thousands of employees to work in all state bodies. To this end, the Mission, together with experts and @eef.org.ua, has developed an online training course for civil servants and local government officials on certain aspects of state policy on de-occupation and reintegration of the peninsula, ProKrym – https:\/\/cutt.ly\/84Ry31U<\/a><\/p>\n

In addition, in cooperation with the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, 2 master’s programs “Post-Conflict Governance” and “Governance in Post-War Territories” have been prepared, with enrollment scheduled to begin in 2023.<\/p>\n

“The approach to forming a talent pool should be comprehensive and take into account the various areas of work of public authorities in the de-occupied territories. First of all, we need to work on restoring law enforcement agencies. The successful formation of the reserve will allow to resume the work of state bodies, taking into account the peculiarities of the long-term occupation of the peninsula,” the Permanent Representative emphasized and added that detailed proposals for the formation of a reserve of employees to work in Crimea after de-occupation will be sent to the Ministry of Reintegration soon.<\/p>\n

One of the most urgent issues is clear communication with the citizens of Ukraine, both on the temporarily occupied peninsula and with those who were forced to leave the occupation. In this regard, the Mission has finalized the main communication messages that will clearly answer the common questions of our citizens regarding the temporarily occupied Crimea and its future reintegration.<\/p>\n

We thank all the participants and the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk for her focused attention to the issue of the occupied Ukrainian peninsula.<\/p>\n
