There was no limit to our joy, everything happened very suddenly,&#8221; commented Yulia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ukrainian authorities facilitated Shiptur&#8217;s crossing of the border with a Ukrainian passport. Around 3:40 am, he crossed the border into Russia and was taken to the Embassy of Ukraine in Tbilisi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We sincerely congratulate Mykola Shiptur, his family and friends &#8211; the darkest time is over, and soon the Ukrainian Crimea will also regain its long-awaited freedom, where we will be happy to welcome you at our head office in Simferopol!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mykola Shiptur became the first Ukrainian citizen to be imprisoned by Russia in Crimea after the beginning of the occupation. He was detained at a rally on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko&#8217;s birthday in Sevastopol, tortured to incriminate himself, and criminally sentenced to 9 years in prison. On March 7, 2023, as soon as Mr. Shiptur left the colony, a car of the Russian migration service was waiting for him.
