The delegation started its work in the United States, particularly in Washington and New York. The program of the visit focuses on meetings with members of the U.S. Congress and representatives of their offices, both Democrats and Republicans, as well as representatives of the U.S. Department of State and non-governmental organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the first day of the trip, the Head of the Crimean Platform’s Support Service met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova. They talked about the perception of Crimea in Washington and the need to constantly emphasize that Ukraine’s victory and the end of the war are impossible without the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, including the Crimean peninsula. The Embassy of Ukraine in the United States is making great efforts to keep Crimea on the agenda. A number of events are planned in the near future to draw attention to the situation on the occupied peninsula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, on the first day of the visit, the Ukrainian delegation spoke with representatives of a number of U.S. State Department divisions working on Ukraine, and met with representatives of the Embassies of other key allies of Ukraine in Washington, including the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which are also making great efforts to ensure that Ukraine receives the necessary assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maria Tomak spoke about the work of the Mission, in particular on the priority steps of the state after the de-occupation of the Crimean peninsula, and shared information about the current situation in the occupied Crimea. A separate topic of discussion was the consequences of the Russian explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station for the peninsula and the use of Crimea as a means of illegal transportation of children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
