{"id":43171,"date":"2023-07-27T09:53:14","date_gmt":"2023-07-27T09:53:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ppu.gov.ua\/press-center\/zaiava-predstavnytstva-shchodo-nezakonnoho-zatrymannia-13-aktyvistiv-v-okupovanomu-krymu\/"},"modified":"2023-07-28T08:25:54","modified_gmt":"2023-07-28T08:25:54","slug":"zaiava-predstavnytstva-shchodo-nezakonnoho-zatrymannia-13-aktyvistiv-v-okupovanomu-krymu","status":"publish","type":"press-center","link":"https:\/\/ppu.gov.ua\/en\/press-center\/zaiava-predstavnytstva-shchodo-nezakonnoho-zatrymannia-13-aktyvistiv-v-okupovanomu-krymu\/","title":{"rendered":"Statement of the Mission on the illegal detention of 14 activists in the occupied Crimea"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"532\" src=\"https:\/\/ppu.gov.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Screenshot_4-1024x532.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-43160\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ppu.gov.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Screenshot_4-1024x532.png 1024w, https:\/\/ppu.gov.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Screenshot_4-300x156.png 300w, https:\/\/ppu.gov.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Screenshot_4-768x399.png 768w, https:\/\/ppu.gov.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Screenshot_4.png 1894w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea condemns the absolutely illegal actions of the so-called &#8220;law enforcement agencies&#8221; controlled by the occupation administration of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol regarding the mass detention near the building of the so-called &#8220;Supreme Court in Simferopol&#8221;. &#8220;Supreme Court in Simferopol&#8221;, where the appeal against the verdict in the &#8220;case of Nariman Dzhelal and the Akhtemov brothers&#8221; is being considered by means of a video link with the Third Occupation Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction in Sochi, relatives, human rights defenders, journalists and civil society activists who came to the hearing to support the defendants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the detainees are Aziz Akhtemov&#8217;s parents, Zarema and Eskender Akhtemov, Crimean Solidarity correspondents: journalist Lutfiye Zudiyeva (also a journalist for Grati) and journalist Kulamet Ibraimov, relatives of Nariman Dzhelal and even civil society activists with disabilities. In total, at least 14 detainees have been reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Such &#8220;decisions&#8221; are aimed solely at isolating the detainees and intimidating relatives, journalists and activists who defend the rights and freedoms of their relatives or compatriots, as well as covering the arbitrary actions of the occupiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We express our support to the detainees, the defendants and their families. Ukraine will do everything possible to de-occupy Crimea and bring those responsible for arbitrary detentions, politically motivated decisions and other violations of the rights and freedoms of our citizens to justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ukraine will also raise the issue of these illegal actions of the occupation authorities and blatant human rights violations at the Crimean Platform.
