Today, on Europe Day, the Second International Summit of Cities and Regions took place. The event was attended by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of the European Parliament Roberta Mecola, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, the Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, People’s Deputies of Ukraine, government officials and representatives of Ukrainian and foreign self-government bodies. In total, the summit was attended by representatives of 18 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President of Ukraine thanked the President of the European Parliament and other European leaders for supporting Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned: \u201cEach of you sees that Putin has come to our land in exactly the same way as Hitler came to the lands of other nations: illegally, unprovoked, and absolutely hideous. Unfortunately, the same thing can happen to our nations. That is why our mutual assistance is a work aimed at ensuring that not only this aggressor loses, but that the very idea of any war in Europe is crushed again\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Second International Summit of Cities and Regions was established to unite the efforts of Ukraine and the world. It was held for the first time last year on April 20.
