As part of the Letters to a Free Crimea initiative, Dmytro Odnorozhenko read a letter from Ruslan Mesutov, one of the founders of the Muslim religious community in Alushta. Ruslan Mesutov worked as a security guard at a mosque, assisted his community with funeral arrangements, organized Muslim holidays, and led prayers. The occupiers illegally sentenced Ruslan to 18 years in a maximum-security colony for his religious and social activities and his support of his people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dmytro Odnorozhenko, the vocalist of the Hatespeech project, lends his voice to Ruslan Mesutov and hundreds of other Crimean citizens who were illegally imprisoned by the occupiers but remained loyal to Ukraine and steadfast in their beliefs and values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ruslan Mesutov is currently held in a Russian prison in the Lipetsk region. The political prisoner is confined to a damp cell measuring 6 by 7 meters, which he shares with three other people. Ruslan sees almost no sunlight, and today he needs the support of his fellow citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
