Today, the Mission hosted a working meeting attended by the Mission\u2019s team, including the newly appointed Permanent Representative, Olha Kuryshko, Deputy Permanent Representative, Denys Chystikov, and Head of the Information Department, Yevhen Bondarenko. The meeting was also attended by Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, along with his First Deputy, Nariman Dzhelyal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the meeting, Mejlis representatives extended their congratulations to Olha Kuryshko on her appointment, expressing hope for continued productive cooperation in protecting the rights of Ukraine\u2019s Indigenous peoples, particularly the Crimean Tatars, and in advancing efforts to liberate Crimea from Russian occupation. They emphasized the critical importance of effective and well-coordinated collaboration between the Mission and the Mejlis, stressing that only through close cooperation can meaningful support be provided to Crimea\u2019s residents, who face oppression and persecution under occupation. Additionally, they underscored the need to strengthen joint efforts in the fight for the de-occupation of the peninsula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Olha Kuryshko emphasized the importance of systematic cooperation between the Mission and the Mejlis in the field of human rights protection. She highlighted the need to focus on securing the release of unlawfully detained individuals and working on legislative amendments. The Permanent Representative also underscored the importance of enhancing international awareness of human rights violations in Crimea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the key topics of discussion was preparations for the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of Crimea on February 26. The Mission shared its proposals on the format of the planned events, which aim to draw attention to the situation in Crimea and reaffirm Ukraine\u2019s unwavering commitment to its de-occupation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
