On the morning of February 6, in the village of Rodnykove in the Simferopol district of occupied Crimea, Russian security forces searched the home of Crimean Tatar activist and respected elder Seitnebi Ramazanov, the father of former political prisoner Ismail Ramazanov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a regional correspondent from Crimean Solidarity, a GAZelle minibus and two passenger cars were stationed near the house, with approximately six security officers in the yard. Several additional officers were conducting an unlawful search inside the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of 10:20 a.m., the security forces left the Ramazanov family\u2019s home. According to reports, elder Seitnebi Ramazanov was not detained and remains unrestricted in his freedom of movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preliminary information indicates that the unlawful search was connected to Seitnebi Ramazanov\u2019s son, Ismail Ramazanov, a former political prisoner who is currently outside Crimea. Security forces claimed to be “investigating” a case related to him and, as a result, conducted a “search” in his father\u2019s home. According to the correspondent, during the search, occupational security forces illegally seized some of Ismail Ramazanov\u2019s personal documents, photographs, and a mobile phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This incident once again highlights the systematic pressure exerted by the occupying administration on Crimean Tatars, the persecution of political prisoners’ relatives, and the use of families as leverage to intimidate activists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The occupying administration systematically violates the rights of Ukrainian citizens through unlawful detentions and administrative prosecutions based on fabricated charges. Such actions constitute a blatant violation of fundamental human rights and international humanitarian law. Only the full de-occupation of the Crimean Peninsula can guarantee the safety of its residents and protect them from politically motivated repression, religious persecution, and ethnic discrimination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We call on the international community to pay attention to yet another case of human rights violations in temporarily occupied Crimea and to unite efforts for the immediate cessation of politically motivated persecution of Ukrainian citizens carried out by Russia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":66258,"template":"","publication-type":[43],"class_list":["post-66269","press-center","type-press-center","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","publication-type-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
