As part of the celebration of the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, we are pleased to invite you to the panel discussion Preserving Memory: The Heritage of the Indigenous Peoples of Ukraine<\/em>, which will take place on August 9 at 17:00 at the M.M. Hryshko National Botanical Garden (1 Sadovo-Botanichna Street, Kyiv).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The speakers will discuss the significance of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine\u2019s Indigenous Peoples \u2014 the Crimean Tatars, Karaites, and Krymchaks \u2014 and the importance of preserving this heritage in the context of the ongoing occupation of Crimea. The panel will also explore the role of the state, communities, and institutions in the processes of restoration, promotion, and protection of this heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
