On November 24, the closing ceremony of the Fourth Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform took place in Stockholm, the capital of the Kingdom of Sweden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the closing ceremony, Member of the Ukrainian Parliament Tamila Tasheva, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, and Speaker of the Swedish Riksdag Andreas Norl\u00e9n addressed the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her speech, Tamila Tasheva acknowledged the suffering of those who still live under temporary Russian occupation in Crimea. She emphasized that the greatest hardships stem from the ongoing war on the peninsula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n“Today we present the final document of this Parliamentary Summit. It is more than just a text; it is a joint political message from the parliaments of many countries represented here, in which we together reaffirm our support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, including Crimea and the city of Sevastopol,” Tamila Tasheva stressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
The Joint Statement of the participants of the Fourth Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform reaffirms unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine; condemns the aggression and temporary illegal occupation of Crimea by Russia, which is accompanied by repressions, human rights violations, forced displacements, and destruction of cultural heritage; demands the release of all illegally detained Ukrainians, the continuation of international sanctions, and holding Russia accountable through international judicial mechanisms, including the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression; and emphasizes the importance of a just and lasting peace, which entails the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine and the restoration of control within internationally recognized borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his closing remarks, Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized the significance of the summits, which become larger every year, attracting more representatives from different countries. He paid special attention to the participation of Crimean Tatar representatives and appeals to European parliaments regarding the recognition of the 1944 deportation as genocide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Andreas Norl\u00e9n highlighted that in 2025, Russia significantly intensified shelling, including strikes by drones, artillery, and other types of weaponry. Compared to 2024, their number has tripled, leading to a substantial increase in the number of deaths and injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n“The statements we heard today reflect our shared commitment to unity, solidarity, and unwavering support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. Let us continue to turn these words into actions by providing concrete assistance and taking decisive measures to achieve a just and lasting peace for Ukraine with respect for its territorial integrity,” said Andreas Norl\u00e9n.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
