During events held as part of Ukraine Week in Washington, materials on temporarily occupied Crimea were presented. The exhibition \u201cCrimea. Over a Decade under the Russian Occupation\u201d focuses on the consequences of Russia\u2019s occupation of the peninsula since 2014, which the Russian Federation has sought to conceal from the international community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In particular, the materials highlighted systemic human rights violations, persecution on religious grounds, repression against residents of temporarily occupied Crimea, the fabrication of criminal cases, and politically motivated prosecutions. A separate section was dedicated to the forcible transfer and deportation of Ukrainian children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The materials also covered resistance movements of Ukrainian citizens opposing the Russian occupation of Crimea. Special attention was paid to the destruction of cultural heritage, including the threat to the Bakhchysarai Khan\u2019s Palace caused by the so-called reconstruction carried out by the occupation administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ukraine Week is a platform for dialogue, advocacy, and partnership between Ukraine and the United States, launched in 2022.
