During a working trip to Brussels, Permanent Representative Olha Kuryshko held a meeting with Irene Fellin \u2014 the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, the parties discussed the persecution of women in temporarily occupied Crimea, women’s resistance to the occupation, and illegally imprisoned Crimean women. In particular, Olha Kuryshko shared the story of Iryna Danylovych, who is being subjected to systematic cruel treatment in a penal colony on the territory of the Russian Federation. Specifically, this involves the deliberate use of loud noise for prolonged periods, despite documented restrictions due to Iryna’s hearing problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O.Kuryshko also drew attention to the story of Esma Nimetullaieva, a mother of 5 children and the wife of political prisoner Remzi Nimetullaiev. The woman was detained by the occupiers in 2025 on fabricated charges of alleged “terrorism”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
