On 11 May, the United Kingdom and the European Union imposed a new package of sanctions against individuals and entities connected to temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as to the Russian Federation’s programmes for the deportation, indoctrination, and militarisation of Ukrainian children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sanctions target children’s camps and sanatoria on the occupied peninsula which, according to the British government, have been involved in the forced deportation and “re-education” of Ukrainian children. These include the Crimean children\u2019s sanatorium “Zdravnitsa”, the “Alyye Parusa” children\u2019s centre, the “Zhemchuzhina”, “Art-Kvest”, “Solnechnaya Tavrika”, “Selet \u2014 Ak Bars”, and “Rossiya” camps, as well as the “Center for Development and Support of Tourism Business”, the A. V. Kazakevich camp, and the “Yolochka” orphanage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sanctions also apply to other entities in Yevpatoriia, Yalta, Saky, Simferopol, Sevastopol, and Pishchane, which, according to London\u2019s assessment, have facilitated the implementation of Russian policies regarding Ukrainian children in the occupied territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mission systematically prepared and submitted proposals to authorised state bodies regarding individuals involved in implementing occupation policies in the sphere of indoctrination and militarisation of children and youth in the temporarily occupied territories. Specifically, the Mission submitted proposals concerning the following individuals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The introduction of new sanctions against these individuals and organisations is an important step towards holding accountable those who participate in the militarisation of Ukrainian children, the spread of propaganda, and the implementation of the aggressor state’s policy in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":87740,"template":"","publication-type":[],"class_list":["post-87741","press-center","type-press-center","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
