
The Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva met with the Head of the Syrian diaspora in Kyiv, Director of the Ukrainian Medical and Humanitarian Foundation “UHHRF” Muhammad Zaidiyeh. The meeting was also joined by Maria Tomak, Head of the Crimea Platform’s Support Service.
During the meeting, Tamila Tasheva discussed with Mr. Zaidiye the work with the Middle East countries in the context of de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea, the role of representatives of Muslim communities and Ukrainian citizens who come from Arab countries. The Permanent Representative also spoke about the Mission’s work with the countries of the Global South.
Recalling the Iftar with the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Muhammad Zaidiye emphasized: “Thanks to the actions of our President, this is a good signal that Muslim diasporas are important for Ukraine. Now the President of Ukraine is a brand for the whole world, an example of courage. Indeed, we need to work more with the countries of the Global South.”
