About the Mission
The Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Mission) was established to facilitate the exercise of the powers of the President of Ukraine in the ARC.
After the beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation in February 2014, the Mission started its work in Kherson. In 2019, the Mission opened an additional office in Kyiv to improve interaction and coordination with the central executive authorities.
The Mission is tasked with maintaining and ensuring political, social, informational, cultural and other relations with the citizens of Ukraine residing on the occupied peninsula; monitoring the observance of their rights and legitimate interests; studying socio-economic and political processes in the occupied Crimea; preparing relevant analytical materials and submitting them to the President of Ukraine, etc.
The mission of the Mission is to help return the Crimean peninsula and restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine as an embodiment of the national idea of the state and society.
In 2021, the Office of the Crimean Platform was established on the basis of the Mission to ensure the effective fulfillment of Ukraine’s obligations under the Crimean Platform.
After the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the work of the Kherson office of the Mission was temporarily suspended.
