The occupiers illegally transferred political prisoners Medzhit Abdurakhmanov and Farhod Bazarov to a prison in Saratov region. At the same time, the Moscow Court of Cassation left 66-year-old Zekiry Muratov, who has a 3rd group of disability and chronic diseases, in the place of illegal detention.
As a reminder, on March 10, 2023, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sent Farhod Bazarov, a father of four and activist of the Crimean Solidarity, to a penal colony for 15 years, with the first 4 years and 10 months in prison, with a one-year restriction of liberty. On May 12, 2023, the same court sentenced activist Medzhit Abdurakhmanov to 12 years in prison.
On July 7, 2020, seven people were detained during mass illegal searches in occupied Crimea. The occupation court of Simferopol imposed a pre-trial restraint on six of the detainees in the form of detention. One of the detainees is Zekirya Muratov.
Zekirya Muratov is an elderly Crimean Tatar with a 3rd group disability, he has a number of diseases – high blood pressure, heart failure, heart disease, numbness in the left leg, frequent falls, muscle atrophy, weight loss in the left leg. The man has one kidney that is prolapsed, causing him to experience constant bouts of severe pain. Muratov has undergone several surgeries: inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia, gallbladder removal, cholelithiasis, and chronic hypertension. Being an illegal detainee is not only a threat to his health, but also to his life.
Illegal transfer of Ukrainian citizens to the territory of a terrorist state is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions! Repressions and persecution of Ukrainian citizens in the occupied Crimea must stop immediately, which is possible only if the peninsula is fully de-occupied!
