Illegally sentenced to 7 years in prison, civilian journalist and medical worker Irina Danilovich was illegally transferred to Krasnodar, Russia. Prior to that, the political prisoner was held in the Simferopol Detention Center. The woman has been illegally detained for over a year.
Ms. Danilovich’s health condition is deteriorating every day. At the last court hearing, she could hardly hear the questions, and despite all the requests to provide qualified medical care, the occupation doctors continue to falsely claim that she is healthy. The activist may lose her hearing completely, which will lead to disability.
The terrorist state once again grossly violates the Geneva Conventions by illegally transferring Ukrainian citizens to its territory!
We call on the international community to respond to yet another unprecedented injustice and increase pressure on the Russian Federation, which, together with the occupation administrations of Crimea under its control, blatantly ignores all international humanitarian law.
Political persecution, repressions and illegal sentences in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea must stop immediately, and all perpetrators must be held accountable for their crimes, which is impossible without the complete de-occupation of the Ukrainian peninsula.
