The second meeting of the intersectoral working group – the Council on Cognitive de-occupation of Crimea, which includes representatives of state bodies, MPs, representatives of the public and expert community, academics, journalists, human rights defenders and communications specialists, was held at the Mission.
The meeting of the Council was moderated by the Head of the Information Department of the Mission Yevhen Bondarenko.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the updated text of the Strategy of cognitive de-occupation of Crimea, worked out communication messages and narratives on the coverage of the de-occupation and reintegration of the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, and got acquainted with the proposed structure of the Roadmap – an internal working document with a clear action plan for the cognitive de-occupation of Crimea. The structure and directions of the document were presented, which envisage the creation of separate working sectors within the Council with coordinators who will work on developing an action plan for each direction. In particular, these areas include: information and cultural reintegration of Crimea, countering disinformation, memory policy, integration of Crimea into European Ukraine, children and youth policy, restoration of justice, educational reintegration, respect for diversity, rebuilding and implementation of reforms.
The participants also formulated and highlighted the tasks to be completed by the next meeting of the Council, which will be held in September.
The members of the Council expressed their readiness to consolidate all efforts to make the steps of the cognitive de-occupation of Crimea as practical as possible, and to make the Strategy a real tool for changes.
