At the Fourth Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform in Stockholm, representatives of the United Kingdom, Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons Caroline Nokes and Peter Ricketts, Chair of the European Affairs Committee of the House of Lords, reaffirmed the UK’s steadfast commitment to supporting Ukraine and holding Russia accountable for its illegal actions in Crimea. In her speech, Nokes emphasized the UK’s strong backing for the Crimea Platform, a vital initiative to raise global awareness and foster international engagement on Russia’s occupation of Crimea. 

Nokes announced that the United Kingdom will host the next Crimea Platform Parliamentary Summit in London in 2026. The UK, a staunch supporter of Ukraine’s sovereignty, hopes to strengthen international cooperation further and highlight the ongoing importance of supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity and securing the return of abducted Ukrainian children. Ricketts invited parliamentarians from around the world to participate in next year’s Crimea Platform Parliamentary Summit in London.

The UK’s decision to host the summit in 2026 reflects its continued dedication to Ukraine’s cause and its resolve to uphold international law, especially as Russia’s occupation of Crimea continues. Nokes emphasized that the UK’s commitment to Ukraine is unwavering and that the fight for Crimea is a fight for all democratic nations.
