Permanent Representative Olha Kuryshko met with representatives of the Ukrainian community in the Republic of Türkiye. The meeting took place at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Türkiye, with the participation of First Secretary Viacheslav Khomenko.
During the discussion, the parties addressed the situation in the temporarily occupied territories and the challenges Ukrainian citizens face in attempting to leave Crimea under occupation. A significant number of questions concerned the issuance of documents to individuals with only a Ukrainian birth certificate. The Permanent Representative noted that the issue of documentation for residents of Crimea remains a priority for the Representation, and requests to regulate this situation have been submitted to the relevant ministries. Separately, Olha Kuryshko emphasized the importance of state support for prospective students from the temporarily occupied territories.
In conclusion, the Permanent Representative thanked the participants for the open dialogue and underscored the importance of maintaining constant communication with Ukrainians abroad, particularly with those affected by the temporary occupation of Crimea.
