On March, 1st 2018 Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted an Appeal to the International Community about the preparation and holding of illegal election of the president of Russian Federation within the temporarily occupied part of the territory of Ukraine in Crimea and Sevastopol.
The Appeal condemns the violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and Human Rights and Freedoms of the citizens in Crimea by authority bodies and Administration of Russian Federation; and imposes the additional sanctions against Russia Federation and personal sanctions against people involved in organizing voting in the TOT of Crimea.
The act notes that organization and holding co-called “election” in the TOT of Crimea is one more attempt to legalize the illicit annexion of the territory. Its results will not have any legal consequences and will be recognized neither by Ukraine no by the International Community.
The Mission of the President in ARC together with the People’s Deputies and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine participated actively in the development of the draft text of the Appeal.
