On December 16 the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea celebrated its 30th anniversary. Despite the enemy shelling and lack of electricity, we managed to gather friends, partners and colleagues to show Russia – we are not afraid of it, and the lack of light and heat will not stop us. The event included a panel discussion on “Achievements and challenges on the way to de-occupied and peaceful Crimea”. Iryna Vereshchuk, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, Oleksandra Azarkhina, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Tamila Tasheva, Permanent Representative, Ihor Ponochovny, Head of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol and Olena Lunyova, Advocacy Director of the Human Rights Center ZMINA joined the event to summarize the results of joint activities, discuss strategies and look ahead to the next year. After that, the guests were presented an art project dedicated to political prisoners and activists who have been resisting the occupation all this time. Rustem Skibin, Artist and Crimean Tatar ceramist, artist Olena Kainska, artist Volodymyr Kuznetsov personally attended the event and presented their works. Alevtina Kakhidze, Ukrainian artist also joined the event online. All the artworks will be auctioned at the auction organized by the Mission together with the Ukrainian Pravda publication and the international charitable foundation Come Back Alive.
