A territory where freedom will be felt. Open to the civilized world. Energy independent. Economically developed, integrated into global value chains. A modern European resort, with a new tourist brand that will include the preservation and development of the cultural and historical heritage of indigenous peoples.
A holistic mosaic of diverse cultures. A protected space, the southern gateway of Ukraine and a guarantee of stability in the Azov-Black Sea region. Environmentally safe and climate-neutral, with preserved natural diversity and protected ecosystems.
This is what Crimea should be like as part of an integral independent Ukraine. This is what the Crimean peninsula should be like as part of the family of European states. Today, for the first time, Ukraine and the EU are celebrating Europe Day at the state level. Although the Ukrainian peninsula is now in the grip of the occupiers, it will not last long. We are steadfastly fighting for the Victory. We are confidently moving towards membership in the European Union, and we see the readiness to accept us.
We have chosen our path because our identity is European, not imperial. In times of war, we survived and became a powerful partner and defense of the democratic world against the aggressor. And the de-occupation of Crimea and Ukraine’s European integration will become our present, not our dreams.
Our unity is our strength. Today we celebrate our European dream and the values we share with the EU family.
Happy Europe Day, Ukraine!
