The Deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea Olga Kuryshko took part in the panel discussion “Consolidation of efforts of Ukraine and the democratic world towards the reintegration of Crimea” within the framework of the Third Summit of the International Crimea Platform on 22 August. Initiated by the Crimea Platform Expert Network, the event was aimed at forming the most complete vision of the situation in which Ukraine is on the way to liberating Crimea and the Azov-Black Sea region.
In addition to the Deputy Permanent Representative, the panel discussion was attended by Valentyn Skuratovskyi, Director of the Department of International Organisations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Alyona Lunyova, Advocacy Director of the ZMINA Human Rights Centre, and Daryna Pidhorna, lawyer of the Regional Human Rights Centre.
Olha Kuryshko spoke about the specific actions of the state to prepare for the de-occupation of Crimea and the restoration of Ukrainian authority. In her speech, the Deputy Permanent Representative focused on three components of the restoration of Crimea: political reintegration, economic and infrastructure recovery and cognitive de-occupation.
The main areas of priority measures after the liberation of Crimea were listed. In particular, the Deputy Permanent Representative spoke about the work of the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the AR of Crimea on the format of the restoration of public authorities, in particular, on the establishment of military (civil-military) administrations, as well as on the training and formation of a reserve of public authorities, and later educators and doctors.
The Deputy Permanent Representative emphasised the concrete steps to implement the Strategy for the restoration of Crimea after de-occupation, as well as the important role of business.
“The development of a new, liberated and open to the world Crimea will largely fall on the shoulders of business. Local and those that will move to the peninsula, long-standing and new startups, Ukrainian and international, small, medium and large – the future of the peninsula will be outlined by a map of interaction between businesses of different sizes and directions. The state creates the conditions for its successful operation, development of the free market and fair competition, because business creates a new face of the multicultural Crimea,” said Olga Kuryshko.
The Deputy Permanent Representative announced the launch of the “We Build Crimea” portal developed by the Mission together with the Ministry of Reconstruction for businesses that are ready to sign the Memorandum of Cooperation and Partnership of businesses for the restoration and development of entrepreneurship on the Crimean peninsula, and thus declare their intentions to economically restore the Crimean peninsula. The We Build Crimea portal will be presented soon.
