On 21 December 2018 at the round table discussion on the topic “Introducing of personal sanctions as the human rights mechanism in the temporarily occupied Crimea”, the foreign representatives of the embassies introduced the laws similar to Magnitsky Act which in force in their countries as an efficient economic impact on the Russian Federation.

The participants of the round table discussed the structure, goals, tasks and motivation of the similar laws to be adopted, assessed the experience of their implementation in the foreign countries including the prospects of development and realization of the laws similar to Magnitsky Act in the context of human rights violation in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Analysis focused specifically on the standpoint of the International Criminal Court Prosecutor’s Office regarding the possible crimes against humanity, particularly military crimes, committed by the representatives of the occupying authorities in Crimea.

The round table was held on the joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People and the Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National University named after Tares Shevchenko.
