On 20 November 2018 the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in ARC Borys Babin held a working meeting in accordance with the tasks 12.3 and 12.4 of the Plan of Urgent Measures on Counteraction of Russian Aggression from the Temporarily Occupied Territory of Ukraine in Crimea, Protection of the State’s Interests, Citizens of Ukraine and Ukrainian Legal Persons in Crimea for the period of 2018-2019. Due regard was given to the results and ways of improvement of the activity of the educational centers “Crimea – Ukraine” to involve the Crimean residents to secondary and higher education in mainland Ukraine by attracting the international technical assistance.
The participants of the meeting were the representatives of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ministry of Economy and Trade of Ukraine, U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, British Council Ukraine, Open Policy Foundation, and representatives of higher educational establishments.
The participants summed up the results of the entrance campaign within the program “Crimea-Ukraine”, discussed the problems and opportunities to improve the activity of the educational centers “Crimea-Ukraine”. In this regard, it was recognized the need to strengthen of informational support of the mentioned campaign to broadcast the appropriate information on the leading TV channels in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine in Crimea. Particular attention was payed to the attraction of international technical assistance to finance the education of the residents of the occupied peninsula and the teachers of the temporarily replaced higher educational establishments of Ukraine. As the result, a number of practical solutions to the issues of further work was agreed.
