On 22 April 2019 the First Deputy of the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Izet Hdanov met with a head of the Odessa Office of UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine D. Kaniffe and a human rights officer V. Hilko.

During the meeting, the First Deputy told about the activity of the Mission in promoting the realization of the rights of the Ukrainian citizens from Crimea, affected by the temporarily occupation and in particular needed legal and information assistance, including obtaining government –issued documentation.

In this regard, he pointed out the work of the Mission in cooperation with the local authorities on establishment the network of the administrative service centers in Kherson region, particularly in the districts, adjacent to the administrative boundary line.

In addition, the social, economic and environmental situation in the TOT of Ukraine in Crimea was discussed in the light of negligent and unlawful actions of the RF occupying authorities. A special attention was drawn to the cases of illegal persecution, intimidation and harassment against Crimean Tatars, ethnic Ukrainians, hybrid deportation, movement of Russian citizens to the temporarily occupied Crimea in violation of the rules of international law.

Izet Hdanov  emphasized the important role of the international monitoring missions under the hybrid war in monitoring and  highlighting the truthful information about the illicit activity of state – aggressor against the citizens of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied peninsula which will be used as an evidence by the international courts in future.

“Together we must strengthen the political, diplomatic and economic pressure on the Russian aggressor in order to liberate the temporarily occupied Crimea”, he addressed to the representatives of the international monitoring mission.

In conclusion, the sides emphasized the aspects for further collaboration and interaction in humanitarian dimension.
