On 15 August 2019 the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine Anton Korynevuch held a working meeting with the newly appointed Kherson Team Leader of the SMM OSCE in Ukraine Rafal Jarmuzek and the monitoring officers.
First, the parties exchanged the information on the mandates of the bodies and then they discussed the external political and security dimensions of the temporarily occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Thus, they talked about the situation in the Azov – Black Sea basin which followed the temporarily occupation of the Ukrainian Crimea by Russia, including the restriction of navigation and total militarization of the peninsula.
During the meeting, the interlocutors focused on the wide spectrum of challenges, related to the unlawful activity of the occupying power of the Russian Federation in the peninsula, starting with the ecological disaster, caused by the chemical plant “Titan” and ending with the assessment of the human rights violations, including the illegal persecution and harassment against the Crimean Tartars on religious grounds and pro – Ukrainian citizens.
In conclusion, the parties exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation and interaction in future, particularly in the informational damension.
