- According to the Crimean Solidarity NGO, Vladlen Abdulkadyrov, Tofik Abdulgaziyev and Bilal Adilov were illegally transferred to the territory of the occupying state and taken to a detention center in Voronezh.
- The Lefortovo court in Moscow rejected the appeal against the arrest of Leniya Umerova and extended the term of detention for 4 months – until 4 October 2023. Earlier, a Russian court arrested her for 2 months on grounds of ‘espionage’.
- After undergoing intestinal surgery, human rights defender Emir-Usein Kuku was transferred back to the Salavat colony. The wife of the human rights defender, Meryem Kuku, emphasizes that previously, her husband had no problems with the intestines, but he often complained about pain in his kidneys.
- Political prisoner Memet Belyalov, a member of the ‘second Bakhchisarai group’ of the Crimean Muslims’ case, sentenced to 18 years in prison, was placed for 7 days in the punishment cell of the Russian colony No. 9 in the Novgorod region. The technical reason for the transfer of the Crimean Tatar to the punishment cell was his shirt: when Memet Belyalov was taking ablution, an officer entered the cell and he had no time to put on a long-sleeved shirt. The officer considered this a violation.
Crimes of occupation
- As of 10 July, it is known that the occupiers in Crimea have illegally imprisoned 180 Ukrainian citizens. 117 of them are representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. Out of the general number of political prisoners, 24 are arrested, 138 are imprisoned, and 18 are without status.
- Political prisoner and civilian journalist Irina Danilovich has not received medical care prescribed by an independent doctor during the entire 14 months of her stay in the Simferopol SIZO-1, which is equivalent to torture and inhuman treatment. In the near future, she will be illegally transferred to the Russian Federation, completely isolated from her family and lawyers, – stated by Ukrainian human rights activists.
- The occupation court of Simferopol has completed the consideration of the case of an administrative offence against Abdureshit Dzhepparov. The Crimean human rights activist was found “guilty” and sentenced to an administrative penalty of 45 thousand rubles for posting a publication “discrediting the Russian Federation” on the page of the Qirim Gayesi initiative.
- Crimean Tatar political prisoner and civilian journalist Remzi Bekirov was transferred to prison No. 2 in Yeniseisk, Krasnoyarsk Region. According to the decision of the occupation court, he is to spend five years in this prison, and the remaining term – in a strict regime colony.
- Pressure continues to be exerted on illegally convicted Ukrainian citizens who are losing their health as a result of cruel treatment in prison. Thus, according to the Crimean Solidarity NGO, Arsen Abkhairov is being held in harsh prison conditions, despite the fact that his term of detention in the above mentioned conditions expired six months ago.
- A native of Ukrainian Pavlohrad, Sergey Yerzhov, was detained in occupied Crimea and accused of ” an attempt to blow up a gas pipeline”. A case was brought against him under the article on intentional destruction of property and now he faces up to five years in prison.
- The occupiers are preparing to burgle the Tauric Chersonesos Museum-Reserve. Thus, the enemy is actually preparing documents for the export of most of the museum’s exhibits.
Militarization of the Crimean peninsula
- The Operational Command ‘South’ of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that ‘Russia is camouflaging the ships of the Black Sea Fleet in occupied Sevastopol’ and is looking for all possible ways of disguise. Furthermore, “the Russian military continues to mine the Crimean Titanium chemical plant, thus provoking a man-made disaster.
- Last week, daily from approximately 19.00 to 20.00, on the Northern and Southern malls, in Kamysheva, Streletskaya and Karantinskaya bays, as well as in the area of Cape Khersones, anti-submarine warfare units were trained with practical firing from various types of weapons,” the so-called “governor of Sevastopol” Razvozhayev stated.
- Open sources reported that Crimean farmers found the wreckage of a drone in their field, which had crashed in the Krasnogvardeisky district of Crimea. There was no damage or injuries as a result of the drone crash.
- The so-called “head of the occupation administration” of Yevpatoriya, Demidova, stated that “Russian security forces will be trained in Yevpatoriya in the area of Stormovoye”.
- It became known from open sources that an echelon of Russian military equipment was spotted heading towards Yevpatoriya. The equipment was seen at a railway crossing near Yevpatoriya. The military echelon includes a trailed anti-aircraft gun “ZU S-60”, and other equipment is a 122 mm howitzer D-30.
- Residents of the occupied Crimea have been witnessing a convoy of Russian military equipment moving through Kerch, including more than 30 vehicles of a two-man unit – lightly armoured patrol and reconnaissance vehicles, trucks, and cars. A convoy of 16 military trucks was moving in the opposite direction to replenish ammunition from Crimean storage bases.
- Activists of the Atesh resistance movement reported the activity of occupation FSB officers on the illegal Crimean bridge. The traffic was blocked under the guise of exercises. Specialists who arrived from Moscow installed grey painted corner reflectors on the structure. Russians are trying to save the so-called Crimean Bridge from Storm Shadow missiles.
- Logistical support for the participants of the so-called “special military operation” continues. According to the statement of the so-called “head” of the Crimea Aksyonov, another “humanitarian cargo” was sent to the contact line, namely bags, construction brackets, tyres for trucks, etc.
Forced mobilization
- As of 10 July, at least 27 Russian military servicemen from Crimea, most of whom are likely to be Ukrainian citizens, were confirmed to be captured.
- There is confirmed information about at least 425 people killed in the military formations of the aggressor state during the hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, whose place of residence is the TOT of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. At least 302 of them are likely to have Ukrainian citizenship.
- Upon the initiative of the so-called ‘Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea’, children who are registered with the Ministry took part in tent military training sessions, where they studied basic military training, tactical and firearms training, etc. Underage children from the military-patriotic movement ‘Yunarmiya’ also took part in these exercises.
- Students of universities in the occupied Crimea are forced to sign conscription notices to the Russian army, blackmailing them with exam results. According to available information, employees of the university of occupied Simferopol told one of the students that he would be able to pass the exams only by signing the conscription. Due to the pressure, he had to agree to the conditions. Such cases are not rare; other students of conscription age have also received “offers”. The conversations are held privately so that the situation is not made public.
- The occupiers are training female cadets in the occupied Crimea to become kamikaze drone operators. At the end of June, a Russian social network posted on the page of the city of Yevpatoriya about the recruitment of people who could be “involved in the defence of Crimea” in the Veter battalion.

Propaganda of the occupation administrations and incitement to hatred
- The head of the occupation administration of Sevastopol, Razvozhayev, reported on Putin’s decision to establish the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, which aims to support the “very strong” veterans’ movement in Sevastopol by providing comprehensive assistance to veterans and their families during the so-called “‘svo'”.
- The occupation administrations report that “Crimea is waiting for tourists”, and holding a successful holiday season is “important” for them. In view of this, the Russian government has allocated 2.5 billion rubles to support tourism in the occupied Crimea and Sevastopol.
- The occupiers continue to count the losses from the blockades of the occupied peninsula and are preparing new lawsuits against Ukraine. “In addition to the water blockade, there were also energy, transport, food and banking blockades. In addition, when Ukrainian banks left Crimea in 2014, they took with them the savings of Crimeans worth more than $1.5 billion,” the occupation administration states.
- Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova responded to President Zelensky’s remarks by expressing her opinion: “He cannot imagine Ukraine without Crimea! Instead, for many years he imagined Crimea without water. And now without Crimeans.”
- The occupation administration continues to exert ideological influence on the residents of the occupied Crimea by celebrating fake dates and accusing Ukraine of intending to “rewrite history”. One of these dates is the so-called “Day of the Defender of the Count’s Wharf”, when residents of Sevastopol allegedly did not allow the installation of a plaque “90th anniversary of the foundation of the Ukrainian Navy”.
- In order to “resolve” the situation with kilometer-long traffic jams on the “Crimean bridge”, the occupation administration is coming up with plans to provide compensation for tourists by extending their hotel stays or transferring the cost of accommodation. As previously reported, since the beginning of July, large-scale traffic jams have been forming in and out of the occupied Crimea due to the increase in the number of checkpoints and inspection of all vehicles.
- Representatives of the occupation administration continue the practice of glorifying the dead Russian military – a memorial sign to fellow countrymen who died while “performing military duty in the so-called svo” was unveiled in the Nizhnegorsk district.
- The so-called “government of Sevastopol” has developed and launched a chatbot called “Defence of Sevastopol” on Telegram. Its purpose is to demonstrate how much attention the occupation administration pays to the safety of the peninsula’s residents.
- Representatives of the occupation “administration” are promoting among citizens the idea that “the Armed Forces of Ukraine will launch missile attacks on the civilian population”, and in this regard, work is being intensified to equip bomb shelters.

- A selection of this week’s Russian propaganda narratives: “The West is sponsoring the crimes of the Kyiv junta against Crimea and Crimeans”, “the Kyiv regime’s criminal actions against children who suffered as a result of the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be investigated”, “the Kyiv regime must be held accountable for the crimes of the blockade of Crimea”, “the revival of Nazism in the territory of former Ukraine”, “thanks to the support of the President and the government of the Russian Federation, Crimea is overcoming the consequences of Ukraine’s crimes”, “the victory of Russia is inevitable”, etc.
Public sentiment
- The occupiers began to massively install alert systems on the territory of the Crimean peninsula. Crimean partisans noted that the movement monitors the activities of occupation law enforcement agencies on the peninsula and conducts constant reconnaissance in Yevpatoria.
- The occupation FSB claims to have failed an attempt to assassinate the so-called “head of Crimea” Aksyonov. A Russian citizen with the nickname “Karatist”, who was allegedly recruited by the SBU and was allegedly trained in Ukraine in mine explosives, was detained. The man was “planning” to blow up Aksyonov’s car, but unfortunately he was caught when he was taking the bomb from the hiding place.
- Over the past week, the Crimean Fighting Seagulls have claimed responsibility for the explosions in Sevastopol, Kerch and Dzhankoy. In particular, the Seagulls continue their usual information warfare: intimidating collaborators, distributing information posters and leaflets. Last week, one of the posters was dedicated to the dead Andrei Fomin, who was a substitute for collaborator Natalia Poklonskaya.
- Activists of the Yellow Ribbon Movement continue their resistance in the occupied Crimea. During the week, 80 more people joined the civil resistance movement. Locals have posted more than 200 leaflets, tied 250 ribbons and painted more than a hundred graffiti on the streets of the temporarily occupied cities, which are systematically painted over by the occupation administration.
- Due to low demand, hotels in Crimea have reduced prices for tourists up to 40%. Despite the high occupancy rate of resorts in Krasnodar Krai, the occupancy rate of hotels in Crimea in June did not exceed 50%.
- A military truck in occupied Sevastopol knocked down a man to death, injuring a woman and her child and eight cars. This is the second major accident in the occupied Crimea involving military equipment in a day.
