MAIN TOPICS:
- Pressure continues to be exerted on illegally convicted Ukrainian citizens who are losing their health as a result of ill-treatment in prison. Thus, according to the wife of illegally convicted Ukrainian citizen, political prisoner, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Nariman Dzhelial, Leviza Dzhelialova, her husband has swelling of the feet, as the regime of detention applied to him actually requires him to be on his feet for 16 hours. The occupation detention center does not take any measures to numerous complaints, providing formal replies, and the so-called “medical service of the institution” concludes that Nariman Dzhelial is completely healthy.
- Illegally sentenced to 17 years in prison, Timur Ibragimov, a civilian journalist with a group III disability, lost 27 kilograms after being transferred to a Russian colony a year ago. He was also diagnosed with a new disease – cholelithiasis. The man waited six months for the examination.
Crimes of occupation
- As of July 24, it is known that the occupiers in Crimea have illegally imprisoned 180 Ukrainian citizens. 117 of them are representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. Out of the total number of political prisoners, 24 are arrested, 138 are imprisoned, and 18 are without status.
- In the proceedings of the so-called “courts” on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, 432 cases of materials drawn up under Article 20.3.3 were recorded. In 368 of these cases, a decision was made to impose an administrative penalty in the form of a fine, and in 12 cases the consideration of the materials is ongoing. In 35 cases, the materials were returned to the “body” that drew them up, and in 8 cases, the proceedings were terminated.
- The occupiers continue to massively persecute and unfoundedly accuse activists. For example, a kindergarten guard Yuriy Voloshin from the occupied Crimea was forced to publicly apologize for allegedly “critical posts about the authorities and the Russian Armed Forces”. Also in Crimea, a criminal case was opened against 30-year-old Yevgeny Shved for allegedly “rehabilitating Nazism” (part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code). The reason for the case was a post in his telegram channel about May 9, which “has been horrifying since childhood.” The occupation telegram channel denounced him. Currently, Shved is in the so-called SIZO-1 in Simferopol.
- The occupation court fined a resident of Yalta for allegedly “calling for terrorism”. The occupation military “court” found a resident of Yalta guilty of public calls for terrorist activities and fined him 360 thousand rubles.
- Roman Melnychuk, 36, was detained, accused by the occupation administration of allegedly “coordinating an attack on a warehouse in Krasnogvardeyskiy district, setting fire to the cars of propaganda journalist Kiselyov and attempting to assassinate pro-Russian blogger Talipov.” He is also accused of allegedly “blowing up a railroad in Kirovsky district, Feodosia, and Simferopol district”.
Militarization of the Crimean peninsula
- The occupiers continue to use the peninsula as a base for attacks on the mainland of Ukraine. Every night, residents of Sevastopol record missile launches at Ukrainian cities, including those that caused terrible damage in the center of Odesa and other regions of Ukraine.
- Last week, an explosion occurred at the occupiers’ training ground in Kirovsky district. As a result, some of the ammunition stored there detonated. The occupation administration announced a temporary blockade of traffic on the Tavrida highway and the evacuation of two thousand residents. A similar situation with the liquidation of the ammunition depot occurred in Krasnohvardiysk and Dzhankoy districts. In particular, on the morning of July 24, a batch of P-800 Onyx missiles, which Russians have been using to shell Odesa and Mykolaiv for several days, was destroyed. Traffic on the railroad and on the Dzhankoy-Simferopol highway is currently suspended.
- Russia continues to militarize the Black Sea region under the pretext of “exercises” for the Black Sea Fleet ships and aircraft. This time, the occupiers “boast” of the Ivanivets missile boat, which “performed live firing on a target vessel in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.”
- The occupation fleet continues to train anti-submarine warfare units at the Southern and Northern breakwaters.
- Last week, in the area of Kozatska Bay, the occupiers again trained occupation personnel with firing from regular weapons at the military unit’s training ground.
- The occupiers continue to supply weapons to their troops at the front, using the occupied territory of the Crimean peninsula. Thus, Ukrainian guerrillas report a large-scale transfer of Russian military equipment to the temporarily occupied Crimea. Military trucks, tractors and other equipment have been spotted moving from Melitopol to Crimea.
- Under the myth of sending another “humanitarian” cargo, Russia is actually continuing to militarize the peninsula. According to the occupation administration, the Russian military has been sent a cargo that allegedly includes medicines, medical devices, etc.
Forced mobilization
- In the occupied Crimea, the age limit for persons liable for military service has been raised by 5 years. The relevant “bill” was passed by the Russian State Duma, according to which the first category of the reserve includes citizens under 40, the second – under 50, and the third – under 55.
- The aggressor state has once again begun to increase liability in case of evasion of the “military registration and enlistment office”. Thus, the amount of the administrative fine has been increased to 50 thousand rubles for failure to appear at the “military enlistment office” and to 20 thousand rubles for failure to notify of a change of residence.
- At the same time, representatives of the occupation administration claim to be forming new land plots to be transferred to participants in the war against Ukraine. It is reported that 500 land plots have already been formed, located on the territory of the occupation Lesnovsky village council of Saki district.
- We remind you of our guide on how to avoid illegal service in the aggressor’s army: https://cutt.ly/cwtipVM4.
Propaganda of the occupation administrations and incitement to hatred
- Representatives of the Russian government are once again generating “large-scale” ideas for the repair of the illegal “Crimean bridge,” which will cost the Russian budget from 1 to 1.3 billion rubles. They also plan to build an additional bridge. It is good that we already know what fate awaits all Russian illegal “large-scale” projects in the occupied territory.
- The occupation administration continues to compile a list of “damages” allegedly caused to the occupied Crimea by Ukraine during the “water blockade”. To do this, it held a meeting with the so-called representatives of the relevant Crimean “ministries” and “departments” to consider “claims” for legal entities and individuals who allegedly suffered from the “water blockade”.
- Representatives of the occupation administration are trying to curb the panic of residents about the situation with the supply of fuel and lubricants. They claim that the provision of fuel “with coupons” is a fake spread to destabilize the situation in the occupied Crimea. In fact, residents report real problems with fuel shortages and rising food prices that have arisen as a result of recent events related to the blowing up of the so-called “Crimean bridge.”
- Russian occupants are preparing mass searches in Crimea. According to the ATESH resistance movement, there are reports of orders to conduct demonstrative “detections” of Ukrainian patriots and activists. Additionally, the so-called “law enforcement agencies” of the occupation administration have been ordered to falsify criminal cases on a massive scale. The so-called “operatives” can plant prohibited items directly during the search, and all the “witnesses” are only fictitious people.
- Representatives of the occupation administration do not stop the practice of glorifying Russian war criminals. It is reported that at least 5 new streets in occupied Simferopol have been named after the dead.
- There is also further evidence of the militarization of children in the occupied Crimean peninsula. In particular, a new course is being introduced into the educational program to study the reasons for the beginning of the so-called “svoboda”. The new textbook will include 17 chapters, including, in particular, “return of Crimea,” “new regions,” “war,” etc. and will be taught in high school.
- Pressure on the cultural rights of the indigenous people of Ukraine, the Crimean Tatars, continues in the occupied Crimea. It is reported that by the order of the occupation administration, a memorial sign to the victims of deportation, installed more than 20 years ago in a park near the railway station in Simferopol, was dismantled. Thus, every year on May 18, on the Day of Struggle for the Rights of the Crimean Tatar People, Crimean Tatars honored the memory of the victims of the genocide by gathering near the memorial plaque, which has now been dismantled.
- Last week, representatives of the occupation administration held a “meeting” to discuss the integration of the “new regions of Russia” into the Russian legal system, in which Crimea “can play an important role and share its experience with the ‘new regions’.”
- The occupiers continue to destroy the architectural monuments of Crimea. They have reached the Khan’s Palace and Park Complex in Bakhchisarai, which is closed to the public until July 31 due to “technologically complex work to dismantle the structures of the metal canopy over the main building of the palace.” This “restoration” now poses a threat to the destruction of the main building of the palace.
- As a result of the construction of the southern bypass of Simferopol in the village of Perevalne, the occupiers destroyed hectares of forest and killed all natural diversity. The plants listed in the Red Book were also damaged.
- Paranoia among the Russian invaders about those responsible for the explosion on the illegal “Crimean bridge” on July 17 began to spread in the occupied Crimea. All employees at critical facilities in Crimea are being interrogated, their phones are being checked, and they are being urged to report those who are considered disloyal to the occupiers. This practice has intensified after the detonation of the Starokrymsky landfill, with “district police” conducting rounds at Crimean Tatar homes according to lists and conducting interviews.
Publications of the occupation media
- A selection of Russian propaganda narratives this week: “Crimeans ask to strike at the Verkhovna Rada”, “Ukraine wants to disrupt the tourist season in Crimea”, “Kyiv plans to clear Crimea of people alien to it”, “Ukraine wants to sow Crimean fields with hemp”, “statements about the naval blockade of Crimean ships by Ukraine are a bluff”
Public sentiment
- These days, the Russian air defense system has been forced to work hard. Open sources report explosions in Feodosia, Sevastopol, and Armyansk.
- Partisans of the Crimean Fighting Seagulls movement are once again warning the local population about the beginning of the de-occupation of Crimea. The destruction of the occupiers’ ammunition depot at the Starokrymsky training ground and the training in the occupied Krasnogvardeisky and Dzhankoy districts are among the first steps towards the liberation of the peninsula, the CBG reports. In addition, the guerrillas remind local residents of safety rules that should not be ignored in connection with the events unfolding over the past few days.
- The ATES resistance movement continues to closely monitor all criminal actions of the occupiers. Thus, last week there was a massive removal of documents of the occupation administration from the occupied Crimea, which is afraid of disclosure of all its crimes during the liberation of the peninsula.
- In Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yalta, Feodosia, Kerch and Dzhankoy, the Yellow Ribbon resistance movement managed to hold large gatherings of activists. According to the organizers, the events were quite successful, they managed to discuss many plans and coordinate their actions, despite the fact that the occupation administration has strengthened “patrols” and started massive searches for patriotic people.
- The occupation administrations are trying to limit communication between Kherson residents who were illegally transferred to the peninsula and Russians who come to the occupied Crimea. Ukrainians share with the “visitors” the facts about their life before the full-scale Russian invasion and the terrible things the occupiers are doing in the temporarily occupied territories.
- The Mission continues to receive requests from Ukrainian citizens who want to leave Crimea because they cannot tolerate the occupation and total propaganda. We remind you of our instructions on how to leave the temporarily occupied Crimea: https://cutt.ly/FwtiajlS
- We thank the conscious Ukrainian citizens in the occupied Crimea for promptly reporting on the situation on the Crimean peninsula, in particular on the socio-economic situation, the movement of Russian troops, the movement of resistance to the occupation, etc.
