Occupation crimes
- As of May 29, it is known that the occupiers have illegally imprisoned 181 citizens of Ukraine, 117 of them are representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. Out of the total number, 32 political prisoners are arrested, 130 are imprisoned, 18 are without status, and 1 has been released but is still in a temporary detention center for foreign nationals in Russia.
- The Chersonesos Tavriya Museum-Reserve presented exhibits from the Stone Grave Museum, located in the temporarily uncontrolled part of Zaporizhzhia region. The exhibition features more than 120 archaeological artifacts that were stolen by the occupiers and taken to Crimea: https://cutt.ly/CwqJxshm
- The occupiers have opened two new administrative cases against activist Abdureshit Dzhepparov for allegedly “discrediting the Russian Armed Forces” and “abuse of freedom of information”. Both “cases” have falsified protocols, which were drawn up by the occupation forces without Dzhepparov’s presence.
- The occupiers continue the so-called “nationalization” of the property of Ukraine and its citizens, in particular, they decided to illegally appropriate a number of objects, including the Mejlis building in Simferopol and Olena Zelenska’s apartment in Yalta. The occupiers want to auction off the first lady’s apartment and send the money “to help Russian soldiers.” https://cutt.ly/AwqJsdJ1
- Valentyna Potapova, a representative of the Almenda Center for Civic Education, said that more than 30,000 children in the occupied Crimea are members of the “youth movement” – there are currently more “youth” units on the peninsula than schools.
- This year, only 197 schoolchildren studied in Ukrainian on the occupied peninsula – out of more than 230,000 in Crimean schools and 53,000 in Sevastopol schools. Only 34 children had access to preschool education in Ukrainian.
- On the territory of the forestry in Bakhchisaray district, 16 juniper trees listed in the Red Book were illegally cut down, with the total amount of damage amounting to about 23 thousand hryvnias.
Militarization of the Crimean peninsula
- Residents of the occupied Crimea continue to record the activity of Russian fighter jets firing missiles towards the mainland of Ukraine on a daily basis. Missiles are also reported to be launched from the Black Sea in the same directions.
- The construction of engineering and earthworks continues along the western coast of the Black Sea and in the northern regions of Crimea.
- The occupiers began to block the “Crimean bridge” because of the alleged exercises taking place in the area. Activists of the Crimean Fighting Seagulls underground group said that the white smoke on the bridge was evidence of the occupiers’ training to escape from Ukrainian Crimea.
- “Training exercises of the Russian Black Sea Fleet” and similar euphemisms for outbreaks of “cotton” began to spread from Sevastopol to almost all areas of the still occupied peninsula.
- The occupation administrations of Crimea decided to provide additional social support measures for Russian soldiers who have permanent registration on the peninsula: preferential travel in public transport, compensation for 50% of the cost of utilities, etc.
- The occupiers introduced the teaching of basic military training in Crimean schools on September 1, as well as the positions of advisors to school principals who will be responsible for the so-called “patriotic education.” In addition, starting from the next school year, Crimean students will have to participate in the military sports games “Zarnitsa” and “Peremoha”.
- The occupation administration of Kerch has decided to supply so-called “humanitarian aid” to Russian military personnel fighting against Ukraine on a daily basis.
- According to open sources, the occupiers are transporting anti-tank tetrahedrons (“dragon’s teeth”) from Yevpatoriya to the western coast of the occupied peninsula.
- In Simferopol, markings appeared on the asphalt near administrative buildings.
- The occupiers have banned access to the Chauda training ground from June 1 to October 31, allegedly “to ensure testing and training of aviation units”. Over the past 9 years, such bans have been imposed on the range regularly, but never for such a long period. Locals assume that a camp will be set up there to train Aksyonov’s troops or fighters.
- Since May 14, Russians have been transmitting false data from the transponders of merchant ships off the coast of occupied Crimea. According to these artificial data, the merchant ships are allegedly sailing in a Z-shaped course at a speed of 102 knots (188 km/h), which is evidence of fake data. Real transponders are disabled, which increases the risk of an accident.
- All restrictive measures imposed in connection with the coronavirus pandemic have been lifted in occupied Crimea.
- As a result of a water pipeline break near the village of Pryberezhne, Yevpatoria and neighboring settlements were left without water supply. This is the second time in the last month that water has been cut off. According to the occupation “Ministry of Emergency Situations”, an accident occurred on the main water pipeline near the village of Pryberezhne.
Forced mobilization
- As of May 29, at least 382 soldiers of the Russian army have already been buried in occupied Crimea. 264 of them were probably Ukrainian citizens. The number of burials may be higher, as many of them take place without coverage.

Public sentiment

In early May, they took military documents to the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as encryption equipment from the military command and control of the Russian Armed Forces.
- The Atesh military guerrilla movement in the temporarily occupied Crimea is tracking Russian military equipment at the Saki airfield. The guerrillas have recorded the number of SU aircraft and the airfield’s defense scheme.
- The Crimean Black Seagulls continue to resist the invaders: a video with a burned Z-car was released, and their leaflets continue to appear on Crimean streets. The CHR stated that they know almost everything about the occupation dog Talipov and called on their fellow citizens to join in collecting information about the pest.
- The Yellow Ribbon Occupation Resistance Movement published a map of video cameras on the peninsula – activists say that before going to rallies or taking pictures, it is useful to familiarize yourself with the location of surveillance cameras that are on all state and military facilities/buildings, in the yards and some entrances of apartment buildings, near commercial facilities, etc.
- Two residents of Kerch left anti-Russian inscriptions on various objects in the city. The occupation forces detained them, illegally imposed administrative arrests and want to initiate criminal proceedings for alleged “vandalism and hooliganism for political reasons”.
- The Mission continues to receive requests from Ukrainian citizens who want to leave Crimea because they cannot tolerate the occupation and total propaganda. We remind you of our instructions on how to leave the temporarily occupied Crimea: https://cutt.ly/YV8zdBz
