MAIN TOPICS:
- On the eve of the completion of another criminal administrative arrest, the FSB kidnapped Leniya Umerova and transported her to the Lefortovo detention center. In Moscow, a Ukrainian citizen was illegally arrested for 2 months for alleged “espionage”: https://cutt.ly/c6ioHtr
- The so-called “Supreme Court of Crimea” decided to return the case files of Irina Danilovich to the occupation court of Feodosia, as she was unable to complete the familiarization with the court records due to her health condition. This was reported by Lutfiya Zudiyeva, who also posted a video with the political prisoner.
- Last week, Server Mustafayev and Irina Danilovich celebrated their birthdays in illegal detention. Our campaign “Letters to a free Crimea” is running until May 27 – you can write letters to political prisoners, and we will pass them on: https://cutt.ly/e5IoS7o
Crimes of occupation
- As of May 8, it is known that the occupiers in Crimea have illegally imprisoned 182 Ukrainian citizens, 116 of whom are representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. Out of the total number, 37 political prisoners are arrested, 125 are imprisoned, 18 are without status, and 2 have been released but are still in the center for temporary detention of foreign citizens in Russia.
- As of April 18, 323 “cases” have been opened under the absurd accusation of so-called “discrediting the Russian Armed Forces”, namely under Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. Out of the total number of “cases”, the occupation courts issued 276 illegal rulings on fines ranging from 30 thousand to 75 thousand rubles.
- The occupying country has also provided for criminal liability for the so-called “discrediting of the Russian Armed Forces” – Articles 207.3 and 280.3 of the Criminal Code. Under these articles, 2 illegal sentences were passed in the occupied Crimea. Details are available in our reference: https://cutt.ly/x5KlaYs
- The health of political prisoner Amet Suleymanov, who is now in the pre-trial detention center in Simferopol, has deteriorated significantly. Human rights activists have repeatedly emphasized that Amet Suleymanov’s detention in prison is contraindicated for his health condition and may have dire consequences.
- According to the Crimean Solidarity, political prisoner Uzeyir Abdullayev is constantly transferred to the punishment cell in the Russian colony without any grounds – in total, he spent more than 50 days in the punishment cell. Now, after a medical examination, he was urgently taken out of the isolation ward, as his life is in danger.
- According to open sources, in April 2023 alone, 77 dead dolphins were registered in the bays of the temporarily occupied Sevastopol.
- Since the end of 2022, the occupation administration of Crimea has begun to “seize” the businesses of Ukrainians and those it suspects of disloyalty. Since then, the occupiers on the peninsula have “nationalized” 700 enterprises and have already illegally put them up for sale.
Militarization of the Crimean peninsula
- Residents of the occupied Crimea continue to record the activity of Russian fighter jets firing missiles towards the mainland of Ukraine on a daily basis. Missiles are also reported to be launched from the Black Sea in the same directions.
- The occupation henchmen of Aksyonov and Konstantinov handed over military equipment (thermal imagers, electronic warfare equipment) and humanitarian supplies to the Russian military.
- This week, “cotton” broke out in Zaozerne, Sevastopol, and separately in Kozacha Bay, Novofedorivka, Saki, Yevpatoria, Krasnoperekopsk – and, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, this is just the beginning.
- In Simferopol, they recorded the transportation of “dragon’s teeth” used by the Russian military to equip defensive positions.
- The occupation destroyer of Crimean forests, Maksym Svolynskyi, said that “33 video cameras were installed in the forests of the temporarily occupied peninsula to quickly detect a fire.”
- Hot water will be cut off for two weeks in Simferopol and Yevpatoriya due to occupation “preventive maintenance”.
- Russian travel companies are beginning to announce that cruise ships will not be visiting the occupied Crimea this year.
Forced mobilization
- As of May 8, at least 359 soldiers of the Russian army have already been buried in the occupied Crimea. 252 of them were probably Ukrainian citizens. The number of burials may be higher, as many of them take place without coverage.

Propaganda of the occupation administrations and incitement to hatred
- The Taliban’s occupation dog still continues to persecute citizens for any manifestation of support for Ukraine: at least 3 residents of the peninsula have become victims of its harassment this week.
- The head of the occupation administration of Yalta, Yanina Pavlenko, called Ukraine a terrorist state against the background of the alleged detention of “saboteurs” who planned an assassination attempt on her and other occupation “leaders” of Crimea, while Aksyonov thanked the FSB for preventing the “assassination attempt.” It should be noted that the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine denied the information about this so-called “detention”.
- The “policy” of issuing land certificates in the occupied Crimea to the so-called “participants of the special operation” continues: there are reports of allegedly issuing land certificates in the territory of Simferopol district.
- The Ilyichevsk school in Sovetsky district, as well as educational institutions in Dzhankoy, Krasnoperekopsk, Yevpatoria, the villages of Voikove and Myrne, have become victims of the “glorification” of Russian soldiers who died in the war against Ukraine – all these plaques, of course, will be solemnly removed after de-occupation.
- The occupation henchmen gathered for a propaganda coven in school #2 in the village of Shcholkino: they opened the desk of a dead Russian war criminal in front of the children who were invited to this “celebration.”
Public sentiment
- According to the National Resistance Center, the occupiers have already developed an escape plan for employees of the occupation administrations of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson (and their families) to the occupied Crimea – meanwhile, the occupiers are already preparing water and food supplies on the peninsula due to the possible blockade of Crimea and southern Kherson region.
- The propagandists tried to refute the fear of the local population because of the Ukrainian army’s counteroffensive, but only showed that Crimeans are not afraid of it because they are waiting for Ukraine. This was the answer of a 17-year-old boy from Yalta. After that, the occupiers opened another proceeding under Article 20.3.3.
- The Yellow Ribbon launched the “Down with the Colorado” campaign: residents of Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yalta and other cities on the peninsula are actively burning, tearing and throwing Colorado St. George’s ribbon into the trash.
- The Crimean Black Seagulls claimed that they were involved in the outbreak of “cotton” at the occupiers’ training base and the arson of a Z-car in Simferopol. The CBGs warned that they would continue to spoil cars with racist symbols, as well as Taliban and his “smersha” in every possible way.
- The woman, known for her “no hacha to leave Crimea, Alushta”, packed her suitcase and fled to Urengoy, a snowy and distant land in Russia. We advise the colonizers to take this wonderful example into account.
- The Mission continues to receive inquiries from Ukrainian citizens who want to leave Crimea because they cannot tolerate the occupation and total propaganda. We remind you of our instructions on how to leave the temporarily occupied Crimea: https://cutt.ly/YV8zdBz
❗️ We thank the conscious Ukrainian citizens in the occupied Crimea for promptly reporting on the situation on the Crimean peninsula, in particular on the socio-economic situation, the movement of Russian troops, the movement of resistance to the occupation, etc. For more information, please send an e-mail to the Mission’s Information Support Department:
