On September, 30 the Head of the Analytical and Informational Department of the Mission Svitlana Tkachenko, following the invitee of the local authorities, participated in the celebrations on the occasion of the 234th anniversary of Melitipol. Nowadays Melitopol is being actively developed and renewed, increasing its industrial capacity. Its residents respect for rich history of the city which is located on the way to Crimea. In the framework of celebration of the City Day, the Youth Festival of Multinational Cultures “Belief. Hope. Love” was held, where the representatives of twelve national communities, residing in Melitopol, organized various locations to make the national culture closer to the guests of the city. Svitlana Tkachenko noted the presentation of national Crimean Tatars traditions. Since the representatives of this indigenous people of Ukraine live in Melitopol district and contrary to criminal deportation and discrimination by Soviet authorities, due to the occupation of Crimea, they continue to preserve their culture, promoting Crimea Tatar Language and real history of Crimea. The history of Crimean caraims was interesting as well.
