Crimean political prisoner Rustem Huhuryk, unlawfully sentenced by the occupiers to 8.5 years in prison, has lost hearing in one ear due to a lack of access to qualified medical care. He continues to suffer from severe shortness of breath, which persists due to the absence of necessary treatment.
Rustem has been in captivity for over two years. His health has deteriorated rapidly due to the lack of adequate medical assistance. Despite numerous complaints, the occupation administration refuses to provide him with proper medical care. Recently, he was transferred to a cell housing 70 people, most of whom are elderly.
Before his arrest, Rustem lived in the village of Novooleksiivka in the Kherson region, working as a taxi driver and helping people travel from non-occupied territories to Crimea. He was unlawfully arrested on March 31, 2022, accused by the occupiers of participating in the Noman Çelebicihan Volunteer Battalion, and sentenced on October 26, 2022, to 8.5 years in a high-security colony.
