Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva joined the offsite meeting of the Presidential Youth Council in Lviv. The rich program of the visit included visits to key youth organizations of the city, as well as strategic discussions of the Council’s achievements and determination of the future vector of joint work.
Ms. Tasheva, along with other representatives of the Council, attended the opening and presentation of Urban Camp Lviv, a part of the youth spaces TVORI! Its founders are the all-Ukrainian platform for the development and promotion of street cultures Street Culture and the Urban Reform office.
Such youth centers often act as a “pull” for like-minded people and organize proactive youth into driving organizations. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally supported the opening of such urban spaces in Ukraine. In particular, in 2021, he attended the opening of the most modern urban park in the country at VDNH, Kyiv.
“This is a very cool initiative that works with street cultures and promotes their idea at the state level. Urban Camp Lviv has been operating for a long time and is a shelter for Ukrainians who have moved from dangerous areas. They receive help there and have the opportunity to adapt and stay for the time they need. This is a wonderful, large-scale project, and I sincerely believe that very soon similar centers will start opening in the territory of the free Crimea and will bring together initiative, patriotic youth,” says Ms. Tasheva.
During the offsite meeting, the Permanent Representative and the Presidential Youth Council will visit key youth infrastructure institutions: the youth center “Pixlab. Design and Media Space”, MoloDvizCenter and Lviv Open Lab. In addition to the visits, the trip to Lviv will include strategic meetings and discussions aimed at identifying key areas of activity and the Council’s action plan for 2023, developing “anchor” projects, and familiarizing themselves with the current developments of the Council.
It should be noted that today the Council’s team is working together with the Lviv team of the European Capital of Youth 2025, which was awarded this title by the jury convened by the European Youth Forum in November 2022 as part of the competition for the title.
Young people are the driving force behind qualitative political, economic, and cultural changes in the country. And it is youth policy that plays a key role in the successful reintegration of Crimean residents, because we are returning not only the territory, but also the people!
