Last year, the President of Estonia personally joined the Second Summit of the Crimean Platform on August 23, 2022. Mr. Karis emphasized that Estonia has never recognized and will never recognize the occupation of Crimea, and that the war began in Crimea and will end with its liberation.

In general, Alar Karis fully supports Ukraine at the UN, EU, and NATO levels and systematically calls on international partners to continue providing military assistance to Ukraine.

Estonia is a reliable partner of Ukraine that has provided military, humanitarian, economic and political support to our country since the first day of the full-scale invasion. In particular, the Republic of Estonia is one of the countries that will help Ukraine rebuild its cities after the victory. Already, thanks to the Estonian side, it has been possible to rebuild a kindergarten in Ovruch.

During the reception, the Permanent Representative presented Mr. President with a handmade ceramic plate by Crimean Tatar master Rustem Skibin with the inscription “Crimea is Ukraine”.
