The Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva attended the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine award ceremony, which was held at the National Museum of History of Ukraine in the Second World War.
The Global Teacher Prize Ukraine is a national award for outstanding teachers, which was organized by the Osvitoria non-profit public organization in 2017. It recognizes teachers’ achievements and emphasizes the importance of their profession. The winners receive financial support to implement their professional projects and represent Ukraine internationally.
In her speech at the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine, First Lady Olena Zelenska emphasized:
“We need to recognize teachers as superstars, especially now, because we understand the challenging conditions in which they work. Today, we honor not only our defenders who protect us from physical enemies on the battlefield but also our teachers who protect our children’s right to have a normal childhood, dream, develop, and plan their future.”
Teachers’ work is essential during wartime, as they not only ensure the educational process but also support students in difficult psychological and physical conditions, calming them down and ensuring their safety during air raids, occupation, and other difficult situations.
Teachers are critical figures in building resilience and national consciousness in the younger generation, which is why it is important to recognize the importance of their work at the national level.
