Today, the Fourth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen took place in Kyiv at the initiative of First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska. The theme of this year’s event: “Child Security”. First ladies and gentlemen of the world, together with Ukrainian and international experts and opinion leaders, discussed the threats and challenges faced by children and young people in the critical dimensions where children grow up and ways to protect them. Among the dimensions addressed in the Summit were child safety during the war, child safety in the family, school, cyberspace, and a safe environment for children. 

This is an extremely powerful platform that has brought together many international partners around the topic of child safety, their protection from physical and psychological threats, violence, and bullying, and the importance of implementing educational programs to raise awareness of child and youth safety. 

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy joined the event and stated: 

“This Summit, in particular, and all the efforts of Ukraine and our allies in general, prove that the safety of children today concerns all of us. It should unite us, and it is uniting everyone today, regardless of any political level. Leaders of nations, First Ladies and Gentlemen, international organizations and institutions, active, brave, and caring people from around the world. In general, adults must overcome challenges that are not meant for children.”
