
The Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva met with the Head of the Ukraine Section of the European External Action Service of the European Union Petra Gombalova-Kislingerova. Ms. Gombalova-Kislingerova is on a working visit to Ukraine and will represent the EU side at this year’s EU-Ukraine Human Rights Dialogue, which will take place this week.
The meeting was also attended by Virgini Tiolle, Ukraine Section Officer at the European External Action Service, Pavlina Rehor and Marta Gensiak, Political Advisers at the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Denys Chystikov, Deputy Permanent Representative, and Maria Tomak, Head of the Crimean Platform Support Service.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Gombalova-Kislingerova reiterated the EU’s unwavering position in support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity: “I want to reiterate the European Union’s support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine. And we will work together to achieve this goal.” She also inquired about the activities of the Mission in the context of developing strategies for the reintegration of Crimea.
In her turn, Tamila Tasheva spoke about the Mission’s priorities for the reintegration of Crimea after its de-occupation, and informed about the plans, in particular, on measures aimed at refuting Russian narratives in the EU.
The Permanent Representative noted: “It is important for us to develop partnerships in the form of international expert support to develop a legislative framework for the reintegration of Crimea after its liberation. In addition, another important area of cooperation is the academic dimension, in particular the creation of powerful Ukrainian and Crimean studies at leading European universities.”
