The Permanent Representative, Olha Kuryshko, held a working meeting with Japanese Ukrainian Studies scholar, Doctor of Economic and Historical Sciences, Okabe Yoshihiko. Mr. Yoshihiko serves as the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Kobe, a professor at Kobe Gakuin University, and the President of the Association of Ukrainianists of Japan. He has repeatedly visited the Mission and participated in various events, including the side event within the framework of the Fourth Summit of the Crimea Platform, as well as this year’s Forum on the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of Crimea.
Olha Kuryshko mentioned the planned activities of the Mission and its current areas of work. In particular, she emphasized the importance of holding the international conference Crimea Global—a unique and large-scale event that has already been held twice in Kyiv and brought together experts, opinion leaders, and journalists from countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America to exchange experiences and perspectives between different countries, as well as to disseminate information about Ukraine, in particular about Crimea as its integral part.
The Permanent Representative also emphasized the work of the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies, one of the important components of which is the development and launch of Crimean Tatar Studies.
We thank Mr. Okabe Yoshihiko for visiting the Mission and for his attention to the topic of Crimea.
