Head of the Mission’s Information Support Department Yevhen Bondarenko took part in the meeting of the expert working group on the development of criteria for classifying information as phobia against the Crimean Tatar people in the media.
Today, Crimean Tatars are in second place after Ukrainians in terms of the amount of hate speech directed at them in the Russian media. Often, the narratives of hostile propaganda find their way into the Ukrainian media space.
To better understand the context, establish cooperation and develop effective mechanisms to address this problem, the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine held a meeting with representatives of state institutions, experts, representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and the public sector.
